In a recent LinkedIn post, I discussed the future of SEO. Some professionals and companies believe that SEO is dead (specifically, that SEO will die again after the full launch of SGE), but let me set the record straight: SEO is still alive, and here’s why.
An Interesting Case of “SEO Is Dead”

I came across an interesting page on WebFX.com called “SEO is dead.”
What’s interesting is that since 2019, this page has continuously ranked in the TOP-5 for the search query “SEO is dead.”
What is the secret?
They show that the page was originally published in August 2023 and updated in September 2023, asking the question of whether SEO is dead in 2025. But it is 2024 now!
It’s a perfect example of how SEO works 🙂 And I like how it is ironic with the page topic.
As long as search engines exist, SEO will continue to be important. It doesn’t matter if the search is done on Google, ChatGPT, or any other service or search engine.
Algorithms need to process and structure information on the Internet so that users can get the best results. This is what search engine optimization is all about.
While keyword optimization was crucial in the 2010s, the 2020s focused on intent, UX (user experience), and building a strong brand to provide visitors with the best experience. However, it’s important not to forget the basics.
Conclusion: SEO Is Alive
SEO is not going away. As long as people continue to search for information online, good SEO will remain the key to visibility.
SGE is a change in the funnel, not the death of SEO. No matter what a user uses to find content and select what they want to see, SEO is necessary to help make that process easier.
